  • To understand how refugees use digital technologies during resettlement, our project team is currently conducting online interviews with stakeholders in the migration and resettlement sector. We are looking to chat with representatives working at peak bodies, non-government organisations, and grassroots organisations as well as community leaders and informal brokers. The purpose of these interviews is to understand the different ways digital technologies are integrated into resettlement programs and what more is needed to prioritise the role of digital technologies during this important phase of refugees’ lives.

     What is involved?

    • The interview will last about 45 minutes and will take place online or in-person.

    • The interview will comprise a series of open-ended questions.

    • With your permission, we would like to record the interview. The recording will only be used for transcription. All interview participants and the names of organisations will be anonymised in outputs from this project.

  • Our project team is interested in understanding how you have been using digital technologies while living in Australia, including how digital technologies have helped you or not. These interviews will help us to assess how important digital technologies are to refugees and asylum seekers, and how resettlement services can integrate their use into their programs.

    What is involved?

    • If you agree, we would like you to take part in an in-person interview that will last up to 1 hour.

    • The interview will include open-ended questions and we will go through some of the apps, websites, and platforms you use on your smartphone.

    • With your permission, we would like to record the interview and take screenshots of your smartphone, but don’t worry, we will make sure you remain anonymous in the research.
